Sugilite

Sugilite is a beautiful stone from South Africa that comes in a wonderful mix of purples, violets, and, in certain lights, deep magentas can be visible in some stones. A very few stones contain the color blue, which is called Richterite. Just one-tenth of one percent of all sugilite is Richterite. The healed cracks and fissures in some of these pieces are very characteristic of this stone and have no negative effect on its structural integrity.
