Midnight Mosaic
“Midnight Mosaic” is the name I’ve given to a conglomerate stone that didn’t have a name other than “black conglomerate.” A conglomerate is a stone that’s really a mish-mash of minerals with matrix in between. Picture the pebbles, sand, and mud in a stream bed solidifying permanently and you’ve got an idea of what conglomerate looks like. This conglomerate is really neat in that much of the rock in it is silicated, so it polishes well, with rich blacks, interesting greys and muted whites. To me it looks like what you’d see if you could swim through the earth’s crust. Great for masculine jewelry. Unpolished backs
